Description
The Villages – among America’s most popular retirement communities.
The Villages in Central Florida, close to Ocala, Orlando and Disney World, make up one of the fastest-growing small urban areas in the country and may have as many as 40,000 or more 55-and-over residents. Several “villages” were built here — some with their own town squares. Plenty of villas and homes are available, including new and resale properties.
This golf community can satisfy the most passionate players. The development has 24 nine-hole courses, called The Villages Executive Golf Trail. Every resident gets free golf on the short courses.
Golf, golf, and more golf at Fl. Villages Country Clubs
The nine championship layouts, all but two with 27 holes, have separate clubhouses. One big draw at The Villages Country Clubs is the Legends, laid out by Arnold Palmer, and featuring lake views and water hazards. LPGA star Nancy Lopez designed the Lopez Legacy and also built a home there.
Residents automatically belong to Florida’s Villages Country Clubs. As you might expect, the preferred way to travel here is the golf cart. This community also has bowling, swimming, tennis, three fitness centers, a polo field, community garden, and libraries.
